Memorial Day Weekend

I had the best weekend ever. On Friday, after being CPR re certified :), I just went grocery shopping and cleaned the house. The girls and I were in bed by 10:00. It was sooo nice. Then, Saturday, I got to go to the gym for a few hours to my fave classes. We picked Joe up from the airport and went to my Gramps' grave site. Then, we went to the park for a picnic and stayed for hours. It was so fun! This is Sicily and her cousin whom she fights with. The conversation went like this, "My duckie chair." "No." "My duckie chair." "No." They are way stressed about it. Then Monday morning I got to run another 5K with my BFF, the one and only Kimberly Lee, and we met up with our favorite instructor, Michelle, and Jeni was there too. What a fun atmosphere. My time was a minute higher than my time two weeks ago, but it was still 26:09.

More park pictures....

I love fun days!

Chelsi's Shout out

I will miss Chelsi so much. On Saturday, after the girls' recital, we came home and she had arranged a surprise party for us. She made the best cupcakes, delicious cookies, amazing peanut butter bars, and gooey brownies. She has helped watch my kids, hung out with me, listened to Joe and me argue, let my kids play at her house, took diapers over when we ran out, dressed Kobe up as a Jazz player, and stayed beside me through thick and thin. She doesn't fit into any of my other categories of what I will miss because she is in a category all her own.

Saturday:Race for the Cure

Every year I look forward to Mother's Day Weekend...not for Mother's Day though. My brother Jon and his wife and I always run the Race for the Cure. It is the most exciting day. It's only a 5K but still neat. There are so many people there. I always get a little teary when you see a shirt that says, "I run for my dear wife Sally" or things like that. There are also many survivors there who show great appreciation. This is the finish line where I was dancing with the band. After the race, I was happy because my sister-in-law and I made our best time ever! I guess getting older has its perks. :)

Ummmmmm, Joe went with us this year. Ah, yeah.
I got really teary after the race with my brother. He is probably one of my favorite people. I will miss him sooooo much.

This is Kim Wood. She is in her 50s. She's a grandma. She runs it too. She did it under 27 minutes. NOT BAD!!

We also had piano recitals and a surprise when we got home but my kids are fighting and I'll have to blog about it later.

So many tears

I know you have all probably heard our news. Joseph starts his new job in Northern California on May 18th. I am so proud of what he has accomplished. He basically skipped two positions for this promotion and most people with his experience are not extended this offer. I know his parents are smiling down from heaven with pure pride. I thank my lucky stars for having him in my life.

Selfish me....I'm thinking about my career, my friends at my job, my family, our boat, no hot summers, our beautiful yard, my neighbors, my comfortable home, my gym buddies, my snowboarding nixed, my daughters having to get new swim coaches, piano teachers, new gymnastic coaches, new schools, new friends etc etc etc.

Me, me, me. This is incomprehensible to me. Check back with me soon. Hopefully, I will have a better attitude.
